Is Hypnosis Real? Here’s What Science Says

DESCRIPTION

Though we have all seen hypnotists on TV and movies doing various stunts, “hypnosis is a well-studied and legitimate form of adjunct treatment for conditions ranging from obesity and pain after surgery to anxiety and stress.”  Hypnosis is used to help people lose weight, reduce pain perception, aid in stopping bad habits and smoking, and treating stress, anxiety and PTSD related issues.  This fascinating article discusses the stages of hypnosis (induction and suggestion) and provides research findings as to what hypnosis really is – from a scientific perspective.   The article examines research into this phenomenon and how it is best used to help people as a treatment.
