TITLE
The Brain Test You Want Your Kid to Fail
DESCRIPTION
WHAT A FABULOUS ARTICLE!!!
This article uses the internet in a most creative way to illustrate the Piaget’s concept of “conservation.” “The basic concept of conservation comes from Jean Piaget, the Albert Einstein of child psychology, who was a brilliant pioneer and whose ideas dominated the field for decades. He was interested in the predictable ways that children develop, often studying his own kids. It wasn’t just how we crawl before we walk, but how certain concepts seem totally alien to us until we hit a certain age.” The article is a pleasure to read and really does a great job showing the simple and fun observations that can be made without any apparatus. I recommend this as an exercise to any student who can work with a child to make these observations.
The article contains a brief video illustrating the concept of conservation. Both the article and video can be used in conjunction with the child development chapter.
