DESCRIPTION

Addiction is a problem that cuts across all ages, gender, social class in America.   This article provides a clear cut understanding of the causes of addiction from a BioPsychoSocial understanding.  The article discusses BEHAVIOR CHANGE and the principles involved as applied to addiction and recover.  “Hundreds of studies of addictive behavior change reveal that a common process underlies all progress toward recovery. Researchers have identified and mapped out five stages of change, and they can be used as a kind of recovery GPS—a guide to determine where anyone may be in the process of recovery.”  This article can be used as both a resource for students studying addiction as well as an outline or the Professor who wishes to teach about the topic.
