DESCRIPTION

The “Teaching Goals Inventory” derives from the book:
Angelo, Thomas and Cross, Patricia, 1993, Classroom Assessment Techniques: A Handbook for College Teachers, 2nd Edition, ISBN: 978-1-55542-500-5
448 pages, March 1993, Jossey-Bass (Wiley Publishers).

Though the instrument is dated (1993), it is an interactive series of self ratings of the importance of goals in teaching a college level course.  The rater (professor not student) answers each of the items in the inventory.  When submitted, the results are presented as a series of tables that indicate the areas the professor/rater considers most important and least important.   This instrument takes only a few minutes to complete the ratings.  The results may help the teacher become aware of those areas of emphasis in teaching.  Further, the inventory might be useful in course level assessment issues.
